Straight Jean

Styled best when you cuff the jean instead of tucking it into the bootie because it can tend to look bunched at the ankle or over the boot which doesn't look the best. Slightly roll the hem for a tapered effect. Stick with a High or low shaft bootie
Skinny Jeans
Most people assume you should stick the hem of your skinny jean down the top of the boot - this works for high knee boots or OTK boots, but not ankle boots.
The ideal combo is when the hem of the skinny jean just grazes the top of your bootie - the cuff. This really works for any skinny or slim leg jean. This style of jean is the easiest to style with most booties.
Flare Jean
Cuffs are a no go with flare or wide leg pants. Ideally try to find a sock boot (hugs your leg). You just don't want the hem of the jean to get caught in the bootie as you walk. Your jeans should be long enough so the front hem reaches the top of your bootie and the back is in the middle of your boot heel. You don't want the top of the jean bunching at the top of the boot or the hem dragging on the floor.
Cropped Straight / Cropped Flare Jean
These jeans are super trendy right now. Since they have a wider leg opening they follow a lot the same guidelines as the flare/boot jeans. In most cases you want the bootie shaft to slide up under the jean- it's OK if a little skin shows but if over an inch it can look a bit funky. Boots that are snug to your ankle are best with cropped jeans so your jeans don't get caught in the top.
Mom Jeans
Mom jeans are very similar to straight jeans! They look best when the bootie shaft is much skinnier than the width of the jean. So any boot that is a high shaft, tight ankle. Or, a low shaft boot with a tight opening.
Boyfriend Jean
Another super popular style of jean right now is the boyfriend fit- I love this pair from Levi! With this style of jean only wear tight ankle booties.
