First, it's OK. You've come to the right place because I'm going to share the method that I use each day that helps me study the bible more effectively! Studying the bible doesn't have to be complicated, Sista! It's all about finding a method and routine that works well for you.

I believe that every word in the bible is God given and so it is important that we are understanding what wer're reading so we can apply it into our lives!
Items I use
First things first, daily I use the Bible In One Year because I like how it splits up how much you need to be reading each day! If you don't have a bible, you can just use the bible app on your phone too.
Next, I use a Journal and I'll share exactly how and why I use one along with reading the bible. For us gals, I believe that picking out a cute journal can keep it fun and interesting. So pick one that you really like!
Lastly, I use Colored Journal Pens so it spruces up my journal page and it also allows me to distinguish between different points I'm trying to make. The ones I linked are super affordable and last forever!
I begin with...
prayer! I think it's important to get in a state where we can clear our minds and pray that God can help us understand and apply what we're going to read. Personally, I do my bible reading in my morning routine before I get caught up with everything that the day will hold. I'll grab a cup of coffee, head over to my coach, cuddle under a blanket and I make sure to not get on my phone during this time so I can eliminate those distractions.

The Method I use!
If you start the video above at 3:45 minutes you'll see the demo I shared using the method so that you can fully understand it! In the demo I take you through exactly how how to apply this demo when you're reading the bible.
Using this method has really allowed me to break down and dissect what I am reading each morning. Also, the combination of reading it, dissecting and then writing it down helps me remember it better as well.
